The Township of Wellington North has two fire departments – one in Arthur and one in Mount Forest providing rapid response to all fire and emergency situations within the municipality. The total fire protection area covers 187 square miles with a population of approximately 12,000. Townships covered include parts of Normanby, Proton and Egremont, as well as Arthur Township and West Luther (now Wellington North).
